ARTICLE I NAME
The name of this organization shall be "Wandering Wheelers of Hayward, Incorporated a.k.a. Wandering Wheelers Jeep Club
ARTICLE II PURPOSES AND AIMS
This organization shall be non-profit in character bringing together and promoting the interest of family four wheeling as well as enjoying our country's natural resources. This organization shall support the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc.
ARTICLE III MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
1. Membership is open to owners of Jeeps, over the age of 21, who have participated in at least two overnighters, two social activities, and six club meetings within a period of 1 year. Their vehicle must meet the safety standards set forth by Wandering Wheelers Jeep Club, and they must be in good standing with the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc., prior to club vote.
2. 25 primary Jeep membership family. Members must be present at meeting to cast vote, and election needs only a simple majority vote to pass.
3. Fee for this organization shall be $10.00 initiation fee, $20 yearly surcharge, and $5 monthly dues per membership. Wandering Wheelers Jeep Club will pay the Cal4WDC membership fees for members in good standing. Lifetime members or others, who show proof of current Cal4WDC membership, may waive the yearly surcharge.
4. Each member must hold a valid driver's license and carry insurance.
5. To remain in good standing, a club member must pay his/her dues or any outstanding debts within 60 days of official notice, attend six club functions, and attend six club meetings per year. Any exceptions to these requirements are to be submitted to the Board of Directors and presented to the membership for action.
6. All members must conduct themselves in a responsible, respectable and orderly fashion at all times. We greatly appreciate club pride by wearing club attire, displaying club plaques on your Jeep, and bringing your Jeep to club meetings. As of January 1, 2001 all plaques will be considered property of Wandering Wheelers of Hayward, Inc. A $75 deposit will be required from each member for use of the plaques.
7. Associate members must:
Be a member in good standing
Live at the most 100 miles from meeting place
Be responsible for your own CAL4WDC fees
Pay $20.00 yearly Wandering Wheelers fee due on or before June 30
ARTICLE IV OFFICERS AND DUTIES
PRESIDENT - Shall be the executive officer and will preside at all meetings. He/she shall have the duties of giving out the policies and decisions of the members. He/she shall appoint committees as necessary.VICE PRESIDENT - Shall assist the president and act on his/her behalf in case of absence. He/she shall have the duty of assigning a Trail Master and will be responsible for coordinating club trips. Multiple use activity reporting form must be completed by Vice President to submit to the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc.
SECRETARY - Shall record all minutes of the meeting, maintain the club records, write any correspondence as directed, and notify the membership of meetings and events.
TREASURER - Shall receive all monies, be responsible for the bank deposits, disburse funds as authorized, sign checks with the president and have the books open for inspection by authorized auditors or club members.
DELEGATE - Shall attend the district meeting of the California Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs, Inc. and shall make a full report to the membership. He/she shall have the authority to make decisions for the club if he/she has not been previously instructed.
CONSERVATION CHAIRPERSON - Shall keep the club informed of conservation politics and events. He/she shall organize club conservation projects.
SAFETY STANDARDS
All Jeeps must be maintained to conform to highway safety standards, as well as meet the minimum requirements listed below:
1. Roll bar or full cage or factory hard top
2. Functional parking brake or Mico-Lock
3. Tow strap or rope (recommended rated at 2 times the vehicle weight)
4. First aid kit
5. Jack capable of lifting the vehicle and a tool capable of removing lug nuts
6. Spare tire equal to or within 3 inches of existing tires on vehicle
7. Fire extinguisher with gauge indicating good/full, appropriately stored
8. Seat belts for all passengers
9. Working CB radio
10. Antennas must not exceed 4'6" (54"), measured from mount on body, bumper, etc. (except when longer antennas/whips are required by certain OHV areas)
11. Adequate attachment points front and rear, i.e., tow hooks, receiver, etc. Tow balls are generally rated for only 2,000 pounds, and that is when hooked to a trailer. They can come off with devastating results. Use with caution.
