The build :

I started this project by purchasing a 1976 Jeep CJ-7 body and frame in April of 2005.  Over a period of about 9 months I bought, sold, and traded parts for my new CJ.  The picture of the body with no front axle and the dash leaning against the side was taken in Nov. 2005.  The frame was wired wheeled and painted.  Then the axles, new brake lines, and body were installed.  The CJ was taken for paint in late Jan. 2006 after some minor rust was cut out, new sheet metal tacked in.  I received it backed on Feb. 18th, 2006.  I had it painted back to the original Sienna {Renegade} orange (well that's what I requested).  The last 6 months has been a marathon of running around getting certain necessary little parts, and spending every waking moment and free minute on the Jeep.  My wife Julie has been a huge support, and she has also been very patient to my selfishness with my time during this last 6 months.  Although, I did take 4 days off from the Jeep project to install new interior doors and door trim in our house (Keepin' her happy).  Also, her only real request for the new CJ was heated seats.
